How many miles are on the vehicle? I'm gonna bet that the strainer on the fuel pump is ripped or gone completely and something is getting sucked into the inlet. If you have over 100,000 miles, its a good idea to change the filter and while your there, go ahead and pull the pump and look at the strainer.
