Hey I have a real simple question to ask everyone.

I have a friend who got a new car cause his old one busted. His old one was an 81 mercury capri. He said he'd sell it to me for 50 bucks, all I had to do was get it fixed. So Im gonna buy it cause I dont have much money and something to get me from here to there would be nice. Well it needs a new water pump....which is easy. and also aparently the block plug popped out? Anyone know why this might have happened and if its an easy fix? I just need to know more about the block plug thing. Could that cause more damage? Or what?
