Take a few screws out, pull the cover back a little and have a look. If the belt isn't fraying, cracked or dried out, it's fine. Sometimes people take used car back to where they bought it for service. It might have come from a Mitsu dealer. Belts are belts, doesn't matter whose name is on it, only that it is the correct size for the application.
I'm sure it's fine.
