My mom's 98 sunfire with the 2200 engine has 235,000km which is approx. 146,000 miles and when I drove that car I didn't go easy on it. The most expensive thing we've had to replace in that car was the AC fan which was about $110 which included labour. also the two front struts and the supports for the struts had to be replace which was more expensive but that could have been prevented... everything else is pretty much basic maintenance like oil changes, replaced brakes a couple times all four corners. and 3 sets of tires including winter tires which we switch back and fourth with our all seasons. So for the amount of mileage put on it along with the amount of abuse it has been given it's held up really well. Hopefully mine turns out the same way but I kinda doubt it considering the condition I got it in. But you can't say most cavs/suns don't last past 100,000 miles without serious problems I'm sure my mom's isn't the only one.
