I know everyone's experience is different, but I've had good luck with Cavaliers. My wife and I had a '90 with a 2.2 that ran over 200,000 miles with nothing replaced but an alternator.
My dad had an '85 with the 2.0 that also went over 200,000 but I don't know what previous owners might have done to it.
