You also should be considering what to do about the fuel system. Gasloine can become a bad thing (lacquer, gelled, or crystyalized) within the various fueling components if left long enough. Lucas makes a product the should help to break down the deposits but Im not sure as to the the severity of your issue. I live in Arizona so it doesn't take long for these kinds of things to happen.
