City driving sux for this problem when i m coming up to stop lights, the car wants to die sometimes, or it will drop below 500 RPM and kick back to a 1000. Works fine on long drives. I noticed that the Tach is very, very touchy, it bounces around, instead of being smooth. I have one of those expensive car chips that tells me whats wrong with the car. It was telling me that it was the throttle/pedal position. However, i replaced this on the car with a brand new one from advanced auto parts, and it still has the same problem, so its not the TPS. I think the computer is getting fooled by another problem, but im not sure cuz its still reading the same problem (P0121 is the trouble code i think). Vaccuum lines appear to be okay. Any other suggestions? My brother-law's friend had the same problem and i m waiting to hear from him on what he did to fix his problem. Something about MAPS, he thought, but not sure, he was going to check with the servicer. I have a 97 GT. Any help is appreciated!
