Solid core wires are different than most modern wires. If your wires say radio supression or electronic ignition, they are not solid core wires.
Solid core wires are for use by points-type ignitions only. They have little or no resistance and therefore broadcast radio interference. They are rarely used these days. If you use them with an electronic ignition, the spark plugs will receive too much voltage and will wear out and erode prematurely. Also they will interfere with every police car and ambulance radio around you.
Supression wires have an electrical resistance of about 1000 ohms per foot of wire.
