Ummm...

Is it not around the cabin air filter?

On the '00 GL, pop the hood and remove screws from the panel beneath the wiper arms. Filter is on pass. side of car. I did not need to remove panel to change filter... removing screws was enough.

I am puzzled as to what kind of leak you have... air is supposed to enter via the cabin filter.
