Well, thats the E-mail quoted directly from the sales guy! There are a few factors I failed to mention though.

First and foremost, this is comming from a dealer in Silicon Valley. The most common car on the road here is the 3 and 5 series BMW. I see at least 2 360's each day that I bother to come to work. Sports cars sell in the Bay Area like hot cakes. In other words...the car is in demand for our area.

Yeah he says one car per dealer, but that is typical for a first shipment. There should be more after that for 2003. They need to sell a certin number a year just to support the logistics of the dealer training/tools/parts inventory.

The weather and the roads here are suited for the EVO.

Fast and the Furious is only a year old, still grabbing interest out here.

When the 2001 M3 came out the dealer that I talked to wanted $60000 + tax and extras.

S2000's are still going over retail out here with 5000 miles on em.

I doubt we will have much to worry about after a year or so if they bring over numbers similar to te wrx. Its a 30,000 small sports car! How many people wont buy it cause its an import? How many people wont buy it cause it a 4 cyl? How many people wont buy it based on Mitsubishis past history?

Just some thoughts
