You could try banging the bottom of the gas tank, in the middle, with something such as a baseball bat, or kicking it, ( just use care under the car) while you have somebody turning the key. Many times this will get the pump going again, if it starts, you'll at least know it is the pump for sure. If it doesn't start it, I would
change it anyway, they usually tend to go out around 70,000 miles. I have a 98 with 65,000, and I plan on just going ahead and changing it this spring so I can do it at my own convenience.
