i must agree. if you know the common laws of auto physics, then it only makes sense that if you add more air, it makes your vehicle's computer just automatically add more fuel, and you SHOULD get more power, but you WILL FOR SURE lose your economy. i noticed a immediate drop in my MPG from 32 to 28 when i added a cold air intake on my cavalier. and thats even when i tried my hardest to get the best mpg. and a little word of advice for you people with stick shifts for better MPG, you should not shift to soon, especially in any vehicle without efi or newer. the stress you add on your car to move it at rpms too low causes more fuel to burn then when the momentum of your cars engine is helping push it along at higher rpms. now im not saying more than 3500rpms on any vehicle, unless its dohc then maybe 4000rpms, but for sure dont shift until your rpms reach 3000. just try it and youll be amazed at your fuel economy. let your vehicles lower gears get you better gas mileage. and if you dont belive me, dont you notice yourself pushing the gas harder and farther to accellerate your vehicle just as fast in 5th gear as you would 3rd or 4th. your just wasting fuel. some vehicles now, especially the newest ones, have electronic thorottle control which will not care how far you push the pedal, itll do what it can do at the given time.
