1. check your engine codes to see if any are stored in it hinting at what the problem might be, is your car OBD-1 with an OBD-2 motor, or is the whole setup OBD-2

2. your car might be in safe mode, you should pull the hazard and backup fuses from your main fusebox under your hood to reset your computer back to normal.
