Hi BimmerGurl:

I have been reading this post, and following your BMW "Blower Motor" problem along, and Jefferyb4me gave you some excellent information and advice about it, and if I was you I would follow his advice all the way. I did on my BMW and saved lots of $$$$, over the past six months here at the forum by taking his professional BMW advice.

Now I do not know if you know this or not, but Jeff aka Jefferyb4me, is a excellent BMW mechanic/tech and BMW owner, who one can trust, and he knows our Bimmer's like the back on his hand! I know the price you was quoted for this BMW blower motor seemed a little high $$$, and it is for some, but remember you are not in that league, you own a nice BMW, not a Honda automobile.

BimmerGurl: I wish you the best in getting you blower motor repaired in a timely matter! I would try first a local import shop who specializes in BMW's automobiles (5 series?), in your community, and then I would get a written quote on a new BMW Blower motor, and with them installing it, and also give you some kind of warranty with it, (if I don't know the shops in my area, I personally always get three written estimates on most BMW work I am to have done, and then I decide who will get my BMW business $$$).

In conclusion...A word to the wise: Do not settle for no used "Electric Blower Motor", or buy one off eBay ("Electric Blower Motor") or anything, especially an electrical item for your bimmer, unless you know who you are buying the BMW part from, and run a eBay background check on that eBay seller, but then it is still risky to a certain degree, and personally I would not buy your BMW blower Motor off eBay!

Now eBay has some good things they sale, I suppose, but to me the eBay auctions is like going to Vegas, because you are more less "Rolling The Dice" taking a chance in hopes of a big win $$$, but . . .

Sincerely,

Presley 348
