a stick isnt better then an auto..only if your keeping things fairly stock ..anyone with real power would break a stock 5 speed in seconds...if your looking for max power from a stock(ish)motor..then go with a 5 speed..but if your going to build up your motor..invest in a good c4 or c6..even a stock c6 can handle 400hp easy ps stay away from the AOD..they dont call it the (DOA) for nothin
