Project01, listen bro, you asked me for the specs of a turbo charged Tiburon on an aftermarket complete turbo kit which runs close to $3500.00. if so the Tibi would make 200 - 210 hp. I did not know he was using a rebuilt turbo. that alone will limit his potential, the fact that its an 88! he wont make more then 180hp, I FREAKING GUARANTEE IT! I have done 3 turbo conversions so far. a 1994 Talon 2.0 to 2.0 Turbo. a 1990 Nissan 240 to a KA20 Turbo, and a Ford Probe GT V6 to a twin turbo. right now I am working on my fourth car but I wont mention it cause its not finished and anything can happen. this does not make me an expert but I can share my experience with you at least. Turbos are not magical, they will not double your HP! HP depends on tunning, with the right dyno tuning and air/fuel mixtures you can add 40% more HP to a N/A which is around how much a turbo will give you. A turbo car + dyno tuning = tons of power. it sounds to me like he is just swapping out basic crap, how is he planning on regulating his a/f mix? where is he gonna get the exhaust manifold to fit an old ass turbo to a new car? It sound to me like he is just building a bomb and asking for it to blow up in his face. My advice is to race him right now! challenge him if he thinks he is such hot shit, if he walks away you rub it in and make him look like the pussy he is. if he ever gets that turbo he will still be underpowered and lose, he might blow it up before he even gets a chance to run and since its such a complicated job he might just never go through with it.
