re: the part about the CD changer
I just did a CD changer install, ironically from Crutchfield - not a factory unit but built to spec. Crutchfield gives pretty good instructions and tech support is included if needed. There are usually some of them on E-bay as well. The wiring harness plugs right in and takes about 3 minutes once you get the pushpins out of the trunk liner. I mounted it on the ceiling of the trunk and it works well. Controls are easy to use on the control panel. It does not give the name of the artist and title of the track like some of the new ones do, but it does keep track of disc number and track number, and it sounds just fine. Whole job took about three hours from unwrapping the box at the start to reinserting the pushpins in the trunk liner at the finish. You will need a drill and drill bits and phillips screwdriver, but no soldering iron or wire connectors; there was one ground wire on the CD changer part of the harness but other than that the wiring was strictly plug and go. Good luck - let me know how it goes!
