Are you sure its fuel injected? A car that old I believe should be carborated. If it is carborated your not letting it warm up enough. It could also be your fuel filter. If its plugged that would explain the slight increase in fuel pressure, you may be trying to force the same volume of fuel through a smaller opening therefor increasing the pressure.
