Re: f-350 aftermarket clutches???
First off, clutches are rated in engineering terms in Tq and NOT in Hp. ANYONE that rates a clutch in Hp, does a dis-service to the buyer, and probabally does not truely understand the engineering behind them.
The PSD is used on trucks up to 33,000#, and some have double disc clutches. The big problem with adding power (Tq) is how do you get a clutch that will handle it and remain a single plate. The answer is either use a larger diameter plate and disc, or go dual disc. I do not think you can install a dual disc clutch due to the fact that you have a "push" clutch, and ALL dual discs are "pull" type.
My advice is to check the yellow pages under "trucks" and "4x4" shops and call them and ask about high load pressure plates and larger clutches that might be available.
Depending on your geographic location, the folks at CATCO truck parts (midwest area) may be able to help.
