Re: Lets Define Ricer Shall We?

Yeah but even a slow car can be made fast. And I don't mean putting a coffee can muffler or simple I/H/E either. I'll give the example of my car. I own a '94 Civic CX; which means it came with a stock 70hp motor (yes I infact said 70hp), but it also weights 2044lbs. So like most people (at least most people on the Honda/Acura forums) I'm going to do an engine swap and turbo. When all is said and done I plan to have around 300 fwd whp. Now with that setup it'd be possible for me to pull mid 12's. Now to me that's not all that bad for a car that was once a slow POS. Will I be able to hang with the faster muscle cars? No of course not, but you've got to admit that's pretty decent for a car that I'll spend a total of $10-11G's or less on (including the $2,000 I spent to buy the car). It's just unfortunate that some people choose to spend that kind of $ on making the car look "good" and brag about how fast it is, when you're pulling high 15's or 16's in the ¼ mile. You'll never see stickers, naws, 18's, altezzas, or a big wing on my car; that's for sure. And even if I do infact hit 12's, I certainly won't be "bragging" about how "fast" my car is. Ricer is all about attitude and lack of knowledge.
