I assume that you are talking about a sub box. All the installation shops use MDF (medium dense fiber board) For the best sound quality use 1/2"-3/4" thick and glue all the seams as well as nail/screw them that way they will not rattle. I had 3 JL 12W6 subs in my old 88 full size Jimmy, everything else rattled but the box did not. I was losing screws all over the place. Hit 135.5 db with it once in a competition.
