A month and a half ago or so my right rear tire was getting flat slowly...going down an inch over 3 days...so I took the car to Sears where the tires are from. They rotated the tires and "fixed" the flat and I thought all was well. I went to work at 4 pm (swing shift) and when I went to go home my tire was thunking. It was riding on the rim. This was at 1:00 am. Luckily a co-worker was still there and volunteered to help me change the tire since it was below freezing out. We put on my shitty little donut and lowered the car only to find out that my donut, having been in the trunk for years, was soggy.

We decided to go to the Sinclair a mile up the road to get some air. It didn't flop the whole way, until we pulled into the Sinclair and I hit that little mini-gutter curb wrong, knocking the donut off its little rim. We sat there trying to put air in but it all came back out twice as fast. At this point I was not going to abandon my car but I knew I couldn't drive it home (4 miles) on the rim.

We sat there for 45 mins trying to flag down a police car because we didn't know what to do. Finally I said screw it and started the long journey home on my rim. I made it half a mile and couldn't go any further because it sounded so horrible. I tried to call my dad (who lives an hour away) to see what I should do but it was no good because my cell phone was dead and the damn thing was too stupid to run off the cigarette lighter. I had to sit there and let it charge before I could call him. He wasn't much help, after all what could he do?

My boyfriend wouldn't answer his phone since he's the world's soundest sleeper and he wouldn't be much help anyway since he's carless. (16 year old boy + 1998 Camaro with governer removed + Denver police + long skinny road with 30 mph speed limit = BAD)

Well, I finally made it back to my work, where at 3:45 am I abandoned my car and found someone to drive me home.

Next morning we called Sears, and they refused to come get my car or my tire! We had to borrow my boyfriend's roommate's 200sx to go get my tire out of my trunk, take it to Sears, and go back and put it on my car.

Luckily Sears felt bad and gave me a coupon for a free oil change and a $20 Sears gift card.
I asked for one of those cigarette-lighter air compressors and a pressure gauge for Xmas. And I got them.

Sorry I'm long-winded but I'm still TICKED about this.
