Mine does have metal where the new ones have plastic, but I don't think they save too much weight with plastic. I'll take mine to a quarry or a weigh-station in the next few weeks and see what it actually weighs.

And that is a pretty good time for a full-size truck, Similar to what mine does, but I just counted the seconds from a stop on a level stretch of highway.

I did read his signature and seen he has a heavy duty chassis and like I said I have the same truck. The 1/2 ton Chevys with the HD chassis package consited of an extra leaf and the 14 bolt semi floating diff with 6 lug wheels and bigger rear brakes. It is the same diff they used in the 7,200 Gvw 3/4 ton. Chevy has never made a 1/2 ton truck that weighs 6,500 lbs. The new Hd 3/4 tons barely weigh that. His signature also did not say he had a 1 ton diff, But that would still not even put it close to 6,000 lbs. If I had to guess I would say it weighs somewhere around 5,600 - 5,800 depending on what extras are on the truck.

Siverado Brethern , Let me know what it weighs when you put it on a scale because I am curious. You should be able to beat an S-10 on the highway at least, But I am not sure from a stop. I just smoke one the other day and even slowed down to let him catch up and took off again all the way to the speed limiter at 100 mph.
