adding an intake alone to a stock car with no other mods is really not very beneficial. you'll have a nice sound but other than that, any performance gain will be pretty minimal. main difference b/w the two

SRI = won't lose the low-end, if anything you'll gain some low end. wont' lose high end but won't gain much if any.
CAI = you'll lose some low-end, but you'll gain some high end

that's the trade off. realistically, the difference between the two is not much at all in my experience. if you're scared of hydrolock, get the SRI. although the chances of hydrolocking your engine with a CAI are minimal unless you're a complete moron and drive through a river. i opted for the SRI coz i liked as much low end as possible. switched from a CAI. no real noticable difference on the butt dyno.
