Thanks. I'll do that.

Could it be that there are two Compressor problems, one being the bearing, perhaps with an all-the-time metallic grinding noise, and the other being the clutch asembly being too far out when it is disengaged, causing the intermittent metallic grinding noise?

If so, the diagnosis should hinge on whether the grinding is all-the-time or just when the ac is disengaged.

Shouldn't dealers know the difference, if that's the case?
