Its a 1995 Park Ave. on it's 5th alternator in 2 years. always same thing , red light comes on and charging meter goes from 13 volts to 10 volts.
All the alternator's have been reman's. After the rebuilt alternator is installed it works fine for a short time. any ideas? should I try a brand new alternator or maybe it's a loose wire?

The previous owner of my car 91 PA went thru 4 alternators then the one i had on it when i bought it blew.. What was the fix, A NEW ALTERNATOR not a reman...the remans suck. 2 years no issues with 15V charge. forget about the remans, there horrible. Pepboys has new prostart units for 139.99.... make sure it doesn't say delco on the casing. if it doesn then its a reman.. Or just spend the $$ and go get a original from the dealer. Worth the extra spending.. make sure its a new one!!
