Ok, so I rebuilt my engine a while back and finally put the thing back together right. It sounds really good and I know for sure that I shouldn't have any blown gaskets this time. I did remove the smog pump, the exhaust crossovers that went into the exhaust manifolds, but I've tried to reinstall the rest of the emissions control system like the hoses that go to the carb & the canister. I also reinstalled the EGR valve & solenoid. The problem is that it accelerates really crappy. Even floored it just doesn't want to move very fast. While rebuilding my engine I did replace the Camshaft with an Edelbrock Performer Plus. I also removed the catalytic convertor as well. It's a Chevy 305, any suggestions as to what's causing the car to run like crap?
