Re: hazard flasher switch replacement

Not sure which vehcile you have. I just replaced (today) the Hazard switch on my 2001 Passat. This was causing my turn signals to intermittently work. Real simple fix.

1. Take a credit card and slip it between the top of the switch and the dash. Use the credit card as a lever to pop off the top of the switch. Should come off real easily. Credit card is prefect since it won't scratch the dash.

2. take a pair of pliers and grab the raised plastic rim that the top snaps on. Pull the switch out of the slot. Wires are attached by a terminal with clips. Pull the two sections apart and insert the new switch.

Mys witch cost $27 at a VW dealership and about three minutes of work.
