I think my last post may be a little confusing since it just occurred to me that you said smaller is better. If you want smaller wires, get the lower mm. When you are talking "gauge", the larger gauge is a smaller wire.
I was not aware that smaller wires created less of a voltage drop. It seems to be that the more conductive material there is, the more voltage will be able to travel along it. This could possibly just be an issue with current, but if you do have larger wires how does a voltage drop occur?
