THere will be a line on the top of the gear... Like someone took a chisel and hit the top of the gear real hard. There should also be an arrow on the block itself (under the timing cover) that that mark should line up to. It is just slightly towards the exhaust manifold, but I'm not sure what the key position is...If nothing else, you should have a mark on your accessory flywheel (on top of the wheel) that should line up with a line on your timing cover.... Give it a try... It might take some time to find, but once you do, you will be kicking yourself for not finding before now.
