transmission swap question

I'm in the process of swapping the 5.7L and tranny out of my totaled 1989 K1500 into my 1993 k1500 that had the 4.3 L. I pulled both of the transmissions with the engines to avoide crawling under the truck more than I needed too. (Jeez I wish I had a lift.) I had done some reasearch and it looked as if the wiring harnesses were the same. However, I now realized that the main electrical plug going to the tranny is totally different. Thinking about it, I think the shift points on the 89 are set with a linkage the the Throttle body, while the 93 had electronic shift points. So, now I guess I have to swap the entire wire harness and linkage assemblies. Any thoughts on this? Or has anyone done this to offer me some insight on it? Thanks-
