turbo my civic
hey, i got a auto 94 civic sedan d16 vtec.
i want to get extra power for my car with out swapping the engine. and i will not convert my auto to manual.
now, i got already a exhaust system, and short ram intake.
my friend said that he can get for 200 australian dollars a turbo for my car which will be give around 30 kilowatts extra, (i dont know how many horses that is) but because of the vtec, he said that i can only use a little bit of boost. and the turbo will give me more top end.
for 200 bucks, i might do it. cause i wanna get a 2000 model prelude so for the meantime, i would like abit more power. without doing anything dramatic to the engine.
and he said that is will be top end power, so that means, when im just driving normally, will i get any extra power, cause the normal rev range i use when driving normally is prob around under 5000 revs i think, all i want is extra power, does top end mean when i trash the car to around 6-7000 revs or top end meaning speed.
also, if i buy a turbo which can be uses on a stock engine, and using little boost, how will the reliablity and maintenance be compared to not having a turbo.
and is there any maintenance with turbo. and how would it sound in a auto.
thanks
