I know what you mean! I posted a plea for help a few weeks ago. Never got any replies though...

Seems like there's only a couple of tires that come in 245/65/17. And once you rule out the OE tires and the other garbage, it seems to me like all you're left with is the:
Pirelli Scorpion STR-A - decent reviews but not great in snow
Michelin Cross Terrain - poor reviews, generally regarded as overpriced crap
Toyo Open Country A/T - great reviews, concerns over being too aggresive to suit the TB and reduced fuel economy

Our local tire shop is trying to convince me to go down a size to 235/65/17 (changes the total diameter of the tire by about 1/4") which opens up a few more choices. From these they are recomending the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza.

What have you found? Any other options to consider?
