That IS the tranny slipping.

First step is to check your fluid level (make sure you have enough but not to much). You want to check the level with the vehicle running and in Park or Neutral.

Second step (if proper fluid level doesn't help) is to have a 'transmission service' performed. (change trans. fluid, change filter, replace pan gasket, maybe add a trans. conditioner). If this doesn't help...time for a transmission rebuild. (most likely).

If this doesn't help, you will want to take it to a transmission SPECIALIST.

How long has it been like this?
It is VERY important that you do this ASAP...the longer you let it go, the more of a chance you are taking with your transmission.
