That Sonoma has a 327 in it and is going to have a lot of pull in it, but remember that your car only weighs 3000 pounds while that truck weighs like 3-3.5 tons. It probably has about 285-300 hp, but it is a truck. I think if you launch well and don't look back, you have a chance. You said you have to put in a timing chain, so why not cam it out at the same time, unless you don't have to pull the motor. I don't know if you need to pull it or not. Why not throw on the headers and exhaust now instead of waiting and make him pay!! If you want to race as is, though, just race and shift well and don't look back!
