blue smoke
I had a similar experience a couple of years ago, while sitting in line to see the Miramar air show (I should have known better) once youre in line, theres pretty much no place to turn out. I idled (and slowly creeped
along) for about 40 minutes. As the weeks passed, the Montero would blow blue smoke after every stop sign or light, not while "driving along", but after every stop. Turns out I needed new valve seals, to the tune of about $350.00.....not too bad for that kind of job. I do work in the Automotive field, and was able to have a friend/mechanic do it for me. It's run absolutely perfect ever since! I have a 94 with a 3.0 in it, and the odometer is 700 miles from turning over to 200,000! It doesnt drip a bit of oil. Ive had really good luck with it so far--I just make sure I have it regularly serviced.
