Assuming you are refering to the later LT1, there is an intake for the "Vortec" head available from Edelbrock, to use a carb on an engine originally equipped with fuel injection.
There are differences in the cooling system, as well. If you use all the attachments from the later engine, it can work.
Is there some reason you would rather have a late model engine? Or are you under the impression it would be a better choice?
