The amount of light and the distribution of the light that well placed rock lights give off is incredible. I didn't think they would be worth a damn until I saw a truck with rock lights on the trail. For the cost, 30-40 bucks it is worth it IMO, expecially if it saves you from destroying something because your spotter couldn't see the rock on the other side of the truck because the rock on this side was casting a shadow and blocking the beam from the mag light.
