Belts are expensive at all. I brought my teg to the dealer and changed the timing belts, all the accesory belts and the water pump for $600. they changed all the fluids too for me. (im such a flirt with those boys at the acura dealer lol) the belt on my teg wasnt broke but my car was hitting 100,000 miles and i figured id change it before it did break. that happened to my bmw and it tore the whole engine apart. its hard work changin the belt u have to unmount the whole engine so make sure your friend knows what hes doin because if its attached wrong the car might not even start. best of luck to u. bye
