Re: 2000 Crown vic/ Grand Marq
The water in the headlamps is a problem. It is due to condensation. Moisture gets in because the lamps are not sealed well enough from the factory, and as the temps change, the moisture condenses. One it is in, it is nearly impossible to remove, but it really won't hurt anything either.
To replace the headlight capsuls, remove the large black tray from in front of the radiator (between the rad and "nose") there are four twist lock fasteners. Lift up at the rear edge, and pull it out. Then you can reach the headlamp wire connector(s) and remove them from the capsul. With the connectors off, twist the retaining nut (large black knurled things) CCW about 1/4 turn and the capsul can be removed.
Installation is revers of removel.
DO NOT touch the bulb of the capsul that you are installing. The oils from your fingers, rag etc will cause it to EXPLODE when lit.
