Most people do fine with just slotted rotors (avoid drilled), and the AEM big brake kit is I believe now available with slotted non-drilled rotors, which should be a mean upgrade for decent money.
Edit> Just had another thought. I have heard of people installing DSM brakes on a EVO to get away with a smaller wheel (for race tires), which makes me wonder if you could do the opposite

EVO brakes are pretty stout.
