I don't think there's anything you can do. That's the gamble you take when you decide to save some money by getting a rebuilt one. I just had mine go out a few weeks ago too. The whole pulley froze up so I couldn't drive my car until it was fixed. (Seemed kind of silly to fix my A/C right before winter hits.) I put a brand new AC/Delco one in. Cost me about $800 when it was all said and done but it worked perfect and I have a year warranty on the parts and labor.
