I had the same problem for about a year, regardless of whether I used copper or platinum plugs. A friend of mine suggested that I use electrical grease (a lot) on the plug ends and inside the boots. He also suggested I put non-stick on the plug threads. I did so and have not had the problem since (about 4 months). Hope this helps.
