I hated the Radio shack ones, they didn't last very long at all. try the Panasonics, they were amazing. I found them at an outlet mall for 9.99 for 4 with a charger, killer deal, I haven't found them since though.
Here, I found a 6 pack of them, they are only 1.25v 1100MaH, but these things go the distance. $15.95 for 6. They are the pink and yellow ones.
