Look around inside the trunk for evidence of body repair, sometimes something gets pinched or a ground is not connected. If you could isolate where the power splits from the fuse to the seperate systems, you could cut one side, and see if the problem is there, or the other one. Then you'd at least know in general where you should be looking.
