and try this, I successfully ram doom 3 on my system last time, I just upgraded today.
I use to have 2200+ athlon (still have it)
352 ram
and a 64mb nVIDIA Geforce MX4000.
I could run consistent frame rate with all graphics options turned down and it ran fine and looked awesome.
But it was also overclocked to 200mhz over.
Try turning the graphics options down (and the advanced options too!) down and see how it works out. Overclocking is usually not the best awnser because if you overclock to much you have the risk of frying your card.
I now have :
Same processor
758mb ram
and a GeForce FX 5200 256mb, I can run full options and have consistent framerate with no slow downs or choppy ness
