That's bullshit about the Y1 tranny being LSD equipped 90% of the time. It was an option that came with the ABS equipped (EF9 SiR II) only or in the race spec SiR (stripped down). Neither my car or Moppies has a LSD - strange that we both lucked out along with a few other SiR owners I've spoken to. Likewise with the EF8 CRX. Going through front cuts at the wreckers, I've seen 1 LSD equipped EF8 out of about 20 EF8/EF9 cuts. I think the person who gave you that info is very misguided.
I'd like to see a Y1 in an '89 Civic BTW - the SiR wasn't built until '90.
