Not too many other people on here have quick Civics to agree with me. Even an ls/turbo swap with extra parts and dynotuning time will cost a huge chunk of change, and will doubtfully see 12's. Know why I dog Civics more and more? It's because I've driven Z28's, Mustangs, T/A's, blah blah blah and they are much more fun to drive, and cheaper to mod. Maybe it's just because I'm getting older (almost 26) but I don't care about "bragging rights" anymore, just power.. and a Honda Civic is not the smartest way to achieve that.
I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic and trying to help kids out before they make the same expensive mistakes I have. A Civic is a Civic, meant for taking the kids to school and picking up eggs and milk. Having to buy $150 metal tubes and $500 tin cans for 5hp does not sound like a fantastic deal to me anymore.. how bout you? Or how about $3,000 for a turbo and accessories to get to 200-250hp, where that same amount nets a V8 400+hp? I'm just tired of squeezing out a handful of horsepower from a 1.6 liter engine when I could be adding inexpensive 20-30hp mods to a real sports car..
Here is a post from a buddy on my local board,
