and well, the civic thing is a bit of a skewed way of looking things and let's ignore that i'm pretty sure a civic can be made to perform better.
but that's not the point.

we are generally talking about a bunch of cars that are by themselves in terms of quality and work involved, a class above.

my point is with resepcts to when you are looking at cars, especially from the same maker and especially cars from the same line;
hence the question of choice
355, 360 or 430?

if you really like the 360 in terms of how it looks and how it goes, then why go for a car that you don't like the look of?
is it really because of the boast factor?
"hey, i've got the latest, fastest V8 Ferrari"

that's what i mean by shallow.
sure, performance does matter but does that over-ride personal preference?

again, if the next ferrari was pig ugly, would you choose it over a slightly slower one that you like more?

i said performace is one of the most important factor. Not the only one. In the case of the 430 Vs 360 I like the 360 a bit more but not enough to offset the perfomance advantage.

If the 430 would've been butt ugly then yeah i would've stayed with the 360.

Fore xample with the scaliegtti as much as I'm a Ferrari fan, and despite the fact that the italian is a better performer. i would take a Db9 over it(when they will finally bring that manual for it)

Bottom line there are many factors in choosing a car and perfomance is a big one but of course not the only one.
