Have had the same problem twice. The first time I replaced the selonoid as you did. Found this did not fix the problem(after a couple of weeks). Replaced the whole starter problem went away for two years. Did the same thing recently. Replaced the whole starter everything is fine again.
The old chevy's had this problem. Banging on the starter or replacing the selonoid worked. I'm assuming it is a rotational problem the brushes getting between two fields or wearing funny. When it happens again take out the two bolts that hold the starter in turn it over slightly and reinstall. My guess it will work for another two weeks or so. The Napa guy told me they get a lot of replacements for these small high torque Ford starters but maybe he just wanted me to feel better.
